OUR STORY · JAPAN ↔ BELGIUM

Maison Yume was born in Japan before becoming a Belgian brand.

First came the gesture, the taste, and the desire to understand what was truly in the bowl. The brand followed — as a way to connect a clear Japanese origin to individuals and professionals in Europe.

OUR STORY

From Japan to Maison Yume.

A story built step by step, from the first careful cup to a direct relationship with Yame.

01 · JAPAN

It all started in Japan.

In Kyoto, in 2024, matcha first became an experience to understand: the gesture, the water temperature, the texture, then the taste. This attention transformed a curiosity for Japanese tea into a desire to know what truly made the difference in the bowl.

02 · RESEARCH

Not just another matcha brand.

Back in Europe, a question kept coming up: why is it sometimes so difficult to know what's really behind a tea presented as "Japanese"? We didn't just want to find a good product and put Maison Yume on it. We wanted to know the region, understand the product, and be able to explain why we chose it.

03 · YAME, FUKUOKA

Our research led us to Yame.

It was in Yame that we built a direct relationship with a family farm. On site, tea is no longer just an item in a catalog: we can taste, compare profiles, understand the production context, and discuss directly what we are looking for.

04 · TODAY

This closeness defines Maison Yume.

It allows us to offer matcha and hojicha whose origin, profile, and use we can trace back to the field. For individuals and professionals alike, the objective remains the same: to reduce the distance between those who cultivate tea in Japan and those who discover or use it in Europe.

From Japan to your cup, with the shortest possible distance between the two.

THE PRINCIPLE BEHIND MAISON YUME

Learn where tea comes from, why we chose it, and how to use it properly.

Origin is only useful if it helps understand the product. We want to be able to connect the cup to the farm, explain the profile without overpromising, and provide simple guidelines for preparation or use.

FROM THE FIELD

Work existed before gunpowder.

Shading, growing, harvesting, and new plantings are part of the reality behind the ingredient. These images show the sourcing environment Maison Yume works with in Yame.

YUME HOUSE

A short selection, chosen for a clear reason.

For individuals, Maison Yume focuses on a small selection from Yame. For professionals, these references can also serve as a starting point for a more specific brief when a project requires a different profile or format.
