THE MATCHA RITUAL
Why use a chasen?
Matcha is a very fine powder: it does not infuse, it must be dispersed in water. The chasen increases the points of contact with the liquid and makes it possible to quickly mix the powder while incorporating air.
Result: fewer lumps, a more consistent texture, and the fine foam characteristic of a well-whisked matcha.

PREPARATION
Three steps for a fine foam.
1 · Sift
About 2 g of matcha into your bowl.
2 · Add the water
Pour 60 to 80 ml of water at 70–80 °C.
3 · Whisk
Use a rapid "W" motion until a smooth texture and a fine foam are achieved.

MAINTENANCE
Rinse. Dry. Do not let it soak.
After each use, rinse the chasen with clear water, without soap, then let it air dry completely.
Avoid letting it soak in water: this simple action helps preserve the shape and flexibility of the tines for longer.

THE PERFECT DUO
The chasen truly comes into its own with a good matcha.
For a simple and consistent cup, pair the chasen with Maison Yume’s Yame Matcha. Sift, add water at the right temperature, then whisk: a few seconds are enough to obtain a smooth base to drink straight or to top up with milk.

The Yume House Chasen
The chasen is used to disperse matcha in water and incorporate air in order to obtain a smooth texture and a fine foam.
Sift about 2 g of matcha, add 60 to 80 ml of 70–80°C water, then whisk rapidly in a "W" motion without pressing the tines against the bottom of the bowl.
Yes. First prepare a concentrated matcha base with the chasen, then add your hot or cold milk.
Rinse it with clear water after use, without soap, then let it air dry completely. Avoid leaving it to soak.
No. The bamboo and fine tines of the chasen require gentle hand cleaning, using only clear water.
