YAME, FUKUOKA

Where our teas begin.

Maison Yume works directly with a family farm in Yame. We do not own the farm: our role is to select, understand, and bring to Europe teas whose origin, taste, and documentation truly match what we are looking for.

01 · YAME

Why Yame?

Yame, in the south of Fukuoka Prefecture, brings together several conditions favorable to tea cultivation: a temperate climate, significant temperature differences between morning and evening in mountainous areas, high rainfall, fertile soils, and frequent fogs.

For Maison Yume, this context is not a decorative story: it provides a precise framework for sourcing and understanding the product.

02 · LIVE

A direct relationship, not a generic origin story.

We start from the farm and the production context and follow it all the way to the cup. This allows us to discuss what truly matters—lot, processing, profile, intended use, and documentation—rather than buying based on a name alone.

03 · THE CUP

Taste and use remain the ultimate goal.

Pure, milk, pastry, or professional brief require different balances. Origin matters because it helps us better select the result in the cup.

SELECTION

What we look at before choosing a tea.

01 · Origin & lot

Clearly identified sourcing and a product we can track over time.

02 · Culture & Transformation

Shading, harvesting, and processing choices are considered according to the desired profile.

03 · Cup & usage

First, taste: pure, latte, pastry or professional brief each require a different balance.

04 · Traceability & Documentation

Production standards and documentation must be suitable for serious professional distribution and use.

FROM THE FIELD

From young plant to established tea field.

Shading, growth, harvesting, and new plantings are all part of the reality behind the ingredient. Understanding this context helps keep cultivation, processing, and the final product connected.

YUME HOUSE

Two in-house references. More options for professionals.

Our Yame Matcha and Yame Hojicha are our main references. For a professional project, we can also study other profiles, quality levels, or formats depending on the application and volume.
